This was Krista's 4th Annual show and the Food Bank collection was great this year, with three boxes of non perishable goods donated plus $40 in cash.  Thanks to everyone who helped spread a little Christmas cheer to others!

Many thanks to Sobey's Elmsdale for their annual November collection for Caring & Sharing, which ran Nov 6 - 16.

Employees paid $2.00 each for the privilege of wearing jeans to work, customers could contribute at the cash and buy a 'card' in their name, and handy $5 & $10 pre-packed bags were easily available for people to grab and add to their grocery order.  It all adds up!

November 15 to December 15 - The Mitten Tree is back once again at the Out Patient clinic in the Lloyd Matheson Centre in the Elmsdale Business Park.  Now accepting donations of new mitts, caps, gloves, scarves & socks to hang on the mitten tree, then be divided amongst the four East Hants Food Banks, including C&S.  Help keep someone warm this winter!

Thursday December 7, 7 to 9pm and Sunday December 11 from 1:00 to 4:30pm - Toy Drive - organized by East Hants Midget A and Midget AA at the East Hants Sportsplex.

Corridor Santa Claus Parade 2016 Collection...
Sangsters Auto Food Collection float. Pajamarama crew picked up pjs along the way.
East Hants U15 Soccer Team collected this year's toys.... and 1st Lantz Scout troupe helped with food sorting.
Our 'sorting baskets' getting filled. Sorters were just a blur of efficiency!

Sunday December 11 - 6:30pm - Lantz Food Drive.  Organized by the Lantz Volunteer Fire Department.  Santa and company took a drive through the Lantz subdivisions collecting for our needy neighbours.  They filled Santa's sleigh & trailer, and needed four trucks to move the collection to the Food Bank.  Well done all!

December 12 - 16 - ProTX in Elmsdale collected food & cash donations for C&S from their generous customers and Dan Purcell matched all funds donated!  Many thanks to them for their efforts!

Saturday December 18 - 'STUFF THE CRUISER' FOOD BANK COLLECTION, 11am to 1pm - Elmsdale Fire Station, 720 Hwy 2, Elmsdale. East Hants Districts Royal Canadian Mounted Police filled TWO cruisers with food for local food banks (including Enfield's Caring & Sharing Angel Tree). A substantial amount of food plus some very welcome cash donations made this year's collection very welcome to C&S!  The RCMP is also grateful to the Elmsdale Volunteer Fire Department for use of their parking lot, making it easy for people to nip and and out with their contributions...

Saturday December 17 - Packing and Pickup of Christmas hampers - starting at 9:00am at the Food Bank.  Another busy packing day for Angel Tree Food Bank, as volunteers moved into high gear to prep food hampers for local neighbours in need.  This event is the culmination of our year, and C&S thanks everyone who helped on the day and throughout 2016; East Hants residents are generous with their time & money, and it all goes to a worthy cause at this tricky time of the year.

It all hinges on the volunteers...
Keeping the packing flowing smoothly. Registering the recipients.
The tricky job of 'shoe-horning' it all into boxes. EH MLA Margaret Miller and friend pitching in.
We provide more than just food, because we do not live on bread alone...
Snuggly pajamas for local kids... The 'top up' table for a few extra items...

Photo Galleries from past years...

Our organization depends on not only the selfless contributions of our own hard-working volunteers, but also on the efforts of ordinary people in the surrounding communities.

They come up with new ideas every year and are the main stay of Caring & Sharing Food Bank.

These galleries are the best way we can think of to thank them all at once; please let us know if your group or family is planning something for C&S so we can promote and acknowledge it.
